Inception is a 2010 science fiction action film heist that was written, co-productions, and directed by Christopher Nolan. The film features an international cast that includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Ken Watanabe, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page, Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Dileep Rao, Tom Berenger and Michael Caine. DiCaprio plays Dom Cobb, a corporate spy and a thief whose job is specialized in the extraction of valuable trade secret information of the unconscious minds of their targets, while they dream. Wanted for murder and can not visit their children, Cobb is offered the chance to regain his old life as payment for a task deemed impossible, “Inception”, the implementation of an original idea in the subconscious of a target.

In 2001, Nolan wrote a treatment of 80 pages about “Dream Thieves” and presented the idea to Warner Bros. in a story conceived as a horror film inspired by lucid dreams. Feeling that I needed to have more experience with the production of large-scale films, Nolan withdrew from the project and instead worked on Batman Begins (2005), The Prestige (2006), and The Dark Knight (2008). He spent six months polishing the script before Warner Bros. acquired in February 2009. Inception was filmed in six countries and four continents, starting in Tokyo on June 19, 2009, and ending in Canada on November 22, 2009.

His official budget was U.S. $ 160 million, a cost that was split between Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures. The reputation and success with The Dark Knight Nolan helped the film get $ 100 million in advertising costs, with most of the publicity involved in viral marketing. Origin premiered in London on July 8, 2010, and was released in conventional theaters and IMAX on July 16, 2010. A blockbuster, Inception has raised more than $ 800 million worldwide and is therefore now one of the highest grossing films of all time. The home video market also performed well, with $ 68 million in DVD sales.

Inception has received critical acclaim and numerous critics have praised its originality, the cast, score, and visual effects. He won Academy Awards for Best Visual Effects, Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing and Best Cinematography, and was also nominated for four more: Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, Best Original Score and Best Art Direction.

Plot

Dom Cobb and business partner Arthur perform corporate espionage by dreaming and infiltrating the subconscious of their targets, their latest being powerful businessman Saito (Ken Watanabe). Tiered dream within a dream strategies are used and dreamers awaken by a sudden kick, or dying in the dream. Each extractor carries a totem, a personalized small object whose behavior is only predictable to its owner, to determine if they are still dreaming. Cobb’s totem is a spinning top that perpetually spins in the dream state. The extraction fails due to Mal (Marion Cotillard), Cobb’s deceased wife, whose memory sabotages his missions. Saito reveals that he is in fact auditioning the team to perform the act of inception: using dreams to implant an idea.

Saito wishes to break up the energy conglomerate of his ailing competitor Maurice Fischer, by planting this idea in his son and inheritor Robert Fischer. Should Cobb succeed, Saito promises to have murder charges for Mal against Cobb cleared, letting him return to the U.S. and visit his children. Arthur insists inception is impossible, but Cobb accepts the job and assembles his team: Eames, an identity forger; Yusuf, a chemist who concocts the potent sedative needed and Ariadne, a young architecture student tasked with designing the labyrinth of the dream landscapes. Saito accompanies as mission observer. Due to the sedative and multi-layered dream, death will result in entering limbo, unconstructed dream space where grip on reality could be lost and the dreamer trapped indefinitely. The Cast

• Leonardo DiCaprio as Dominic “Dom” Cobb, a professional thief who specializes in conning secrets from his victims by infiltrating their dreams. DiCaprio was the first actor to be cast in the film. Nolan had been trying to work with the actor for years and met him several times, but was unable to convince him to appear in any of his films until Inception. According to Hollywood Reporter, both Brad Pitt and Will Smith were offered the role.
• Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Arthur, Cobb’s partner who manages and researches the missions. Gordon-Levitt compared Arthur to the producer of Cobb’s art, “the one saying, ‘Okay, you have your vision; now I’m going to figure out how to make all the nuts and bolts work so you can do your thing’”. The actor did all of his stunts but one scene and said the preparation “was a challenge and it would have to be for it to look real”.
• Ellen Page as Ariadne, a graduate student of architecture who is recruited to construct the various dreamscapes, which are described as mazes. The name Ariadne alludes to a princess of Greek myth, daughter of King Minos, who aided the hero Theseus by giving him a sword and a ball of string to help him navigate the labyrinth which was the prison of the Minotaur. Nolan said that Page was chosen for being a “perfect combination of freshness and savvy and maturity beyond her years”. Page said her character acts as a proxy to the audience, as “she’s just learning about these ideas and, in essence, assists the audience in learning about dream sharing”.
• Tom Hardy as Eames, a sharp-tongued associate of Cobb’s. He is referred to as a fence but his speciality is forgery, more accurately identity theft. Eames uses his ability to impersonate others inside the dream world in order to manipulate Fischer. Hardy described his character as “an old, Graham Greene-type diplomat; sort of faded, shabby, grandeur – the old Shakespeare lovey mixed with somebody from Her Majesty’s Special Forces”, who wears “campy, old money” costumes.
• Ken Watanabe as Mr. Saito, a businessman who employs Cobb for the team’s mission. Nolan wrote the role with Watanabe in mind, as he wanted to work with him again after Batman Begins. Inception is Watanabe’s first work in a contemporary setting where his primary language is English. Watanabe tried to emphasize a different characteristic of Saito in every dream level – “First chapter in my castle, I pick up some hidden feelings of the cycle. It’s magical, powerful and then the first dream. And back to the second chapter, in the old hotel, I pick up [being] sharp and more calm and smart and it’s a little bit [of a] different process to make up the character of any movie”.
• Dileep Rao as Yusuf, the team’s chemist. Rao describes Yusuf as “an avant-garde pharmacologist, who is a resource for people, like Cobb, who want to do this work unsupervised, unregistered and unapproved of by anyone”. Co-producer Jordan Goldberg said the role of the chemist was “particularly tough because you don’t want him to seem like some kind of drug dealer”, and that Rao was cast for being “funny, interesting and obviously smart”.
• Cillian Murphy as Robert Michael Fischer, the heir to a business empire and the team’s target. Murphy said Fischer was portrayed as “a petulant child who’s in need of a lot of attention from his father, he has everything he could ever want materially, but he’s deeply lacking emotionally”. The actor also researched the sons of Rupert Murdoch, “to add to that the idea of living in the shadow of someone so immensely powerful”.
• Tom Berenger as Peter Browning, Robert Fischer’s godfather and fellow executive at the Fischers’ company. Berenger said Browning acts as a “surrogate father” to Robert, who calls the character “Uncle Peter”, and emphasized that “Browning has been with [Robert] his whole life and has probably spent more quality time with him than his own father”.
• Marion Cotillard as Mallorie “Mal” Cobb, Dom’s deceased wife. As the film’s main antagonist, she is a manifestation of Dom’s guilt about the real Mal’s suicide. He is unable to control these projections of her, challenging his abilities as an extractor. Nolan described Mal as “the essence of the femme fatale,” and DiCaprio praised Cotillard’s performance saying that “she can be strong and vulnerable and hopeful and heartbreaking all in the same moment, which was perfect for all the contradictions of her character”.
• Pete Postlethwaite as Maurice Fischer, the dying founder of a business empire and the father of Robert. The film became one of Postlethwaite’s final film roles before his death in early 2011.
• Michael Caine as Prof. Stephen Miles, Cobb’s mentor and father-in-law, and Ariadne’s college professor who recommends her to the team.
• Lukas Haas as Nash, an architect in Cobb’s employment who betrays the team and is later replaced by Ariadne.
• Talulah Riley as a woman whom Eames disguises himself as in a dream. Riley liked the role, despite it being minimal – “I get to wear a nice dress, pick up men in bars, and shove them in elevators. It was good to do something adultish. Usually I play 15-year-old English schoolgirls.”
• Miranda Nolan plays a minor role as an air hostess. Miranda is a first cousin to the film’s director Christopher Nolan.

Toy Story 3 is a 2010 computer-animated 3D comedy American film adventure, and the third installment of the Harry Potter series. It was produced by Pixar and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The film was directed by Lee Unkrich. The film was released worldwide from June to October in Disney Digital 3-D, IMAX and RealD 3D. Toy Story 3 was also the first film released in theaters with 7.1 surround sound.

The plot centers on the toy Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks), Buzz Lightyear (voice of Tim Allen) and his friends face an uncertain future as their owner, Andy, is preparing to leave the university. Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Don Rickles, Estelle Harris, John Ratzenberger, Wallace Shawn, Jeff Pidgeon, Jodi Benson, R. Lee Ermey, Laurie Metcalf and John Morris reprized their roles as voice-over from the previous movies. Jim Varney, who played Slinky Dog in the first two films, and Joe Ranft, who played Lenny and panting, both died before production began in Toy Story 3. The role of Slinky Dog took over Blake Clark, while Ranft and several other characters were written in history. New characters include performances by Ned Beatty, Timothy Dalton, Kristen Schaal, Bonnie Hunt, Whoopi Goldberg, Jeff Garlin, and Michael Keaton.

The role of Shrek the Third broke record as the biggest opening day North American gross for an animated film without adjustment for inflation and a large opening with an adjusted gross of $ 110,307,189. It is also the first weekend’s highest grossing film for Pixar, and the first weekend’s highest grossing film to have been opened in June. The film is the highest grossing film of 2010 in the United States and Canada, and the highest grossing film of 2010 worldwide. In July, surpassed Finding Nemo to become the highest grossing Pixar film ever at the box office in North America. In early August, the film surpassed Shrek 2 as the highest grossing animated film of all time worldwide, and later that month, Toy Story 3 became the first animated film in history to make over $ 1 billion worldwide. Today is the seventh highest grossing film of all time.

Toy Story 3 was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Sound Editing. It was the third animated film (after Beauty and the Beast and Up) to be nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture. He won the awards for Best Animated Film and Best Original Song.

Plot

Andy, now nearly 18 years old, goes off to college, and his toys feel like they have been abandoned as they have not been played with for several years. Andy decides to take Woody with him to college and puts Buzz and the rest of the toys in a trash bag for storage in the attic. However, the toys are accidentally thrown out when Andy’s mom finds the bag and puts it out on the curb, causing the toys to think that they are no longer wanted. They escape and decide to climb in a donation box for the Sunnyside Daycare. The Social Network is a 2010 American drama film directed by David Fincher and written by Aaron Sorkin. Adapted from 2009 Ben Mezrich’s book Billionaires by accident, the film portrays the founding of Facebook and the resulting judgments. It stars Jesse Eisenberg as the founder, Mark Zuckerberg, along with Andrew Garfield and Justin Timberlake as the major players involved in creating the website. Neither Zuckerberg or any other personal Facebook were involved with the project, although Eduardo Saverin was a consultant for Mezrich’s book. The film was released in the United States by Columbia Pictures on October 1, 2010.

The film received numerous accolades, with critics praising it for editing, performance, features, direction and screenplay. Some people, including Zuckerberg himself, criticized the film for its many inaccuracies. The social network appeared on 78 critics’ top 10 list for 2010; of those critics, 22 had the movie in its number-one place. Peter Travers Rolling Stone magazine said “The Social Network is the movie of the year. However, Fincher and Sorkin triumph by taking even more. Cord scathing wit with a painful sadness that define dark irony of the last decade.”

It received eight Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director (Fincher) and Best Actor (Eisenberg), and won three for Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Original Score and Best Editing. In the Golden Globes, 68 th, the film won Best Picture – Drama, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Original Score.

Plot

In 2003, Harvard University student Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg) is dumped by his girlfriend Erica Albright (Rooney Mara). He returns to his dorm drunk and writes a scathing blog entry about her. This inspires him to create an on-campus website called Facemash which allows users to rate the attractiveness of female students using photographs pilfered from various university systems. Mark receives six months of academic probation after traffic to the site crashes parts of Harvard’s network. Facemash’s popularity and the fact that Mark created it in one night while drunk brings him to the attention of Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss (both portrayed by Armie Hammer) and their business partner Divya Narendra (Max Minghella). The Winklevoss twins invite Mark to their final club, where Mark accepts a job as programmer for a proposed dating website they call Harvard Connection which will be exclusive to Harvard alumni.

Mark approaches his friend Eduardo Saverin (Andrew Garfield) and tells him of his idea for what he calls “Thefacebook”, an online social networking website exclusive to Harvard University students. He explains that this would mimic the popularity of FaceMash but since signing up would be consensual it would avoid the ethical problems of the earlier site. Eduardo agrees to help Mark, providing $1,000 to help start the site. They distribute the link to Eduardo’s connections at the Phoenix S-K final club, and it becomes popular throughout the student body. When they learn of Thefacebook, the Winklevoss twins and Narendra believe Zuckerberg has stolen their idea while stalling on their website. How to Train Your Dragon is a 2010 3D computer-animated fantasy film from DreamWorks Animation loosely based on the 2003 English book of the same name. The film was directed by Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois, the duo who directed Disney film Lilo & Stitch. It stars the voices of Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, TJ Miller, Kristen Wiig and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

The story takes place in a mythical Viking world, where a young Viking named Hiccup teenager aspires to continue the tradition of his tribe to become a dragon slayer. Finally, after catching your first dragon, and his opportunity to finally gain acceptance of the tribe, he finds that no longer has the desire to kill it and instead befriends him.

The film was released March 26, 2010 to positive reviews. The film grossed nearly $ 500 million worldwide and became the fifth film from DreamWorks Animation’s most successful in the United States and Canada (behind the Shrek film series). He was nominated for an Oscar for Best Animated Film and Best Original Score at the 83 Academy Awards, but lost to Toy Story 3 and The Social Network, respectively. The film also won ten Annie Awards, including Best Animated Film.

A sequel to the film, written and directed by Dean DeBlois, is scheduled to be released on June 20, 2014.

Plot

The island of Berk has been plagued by attacks from dragons that steal their livestock and burn their homes. Hiccup, the awkward son of the village chieftain, Stoick the Vast, uses a cannon contraption he invented and shoots down a dragon he thinks may be a Night Fury, a rare dragon nobody has ever actually seen. Hiccup locates the dragon in the forest, but finds he is unable to kill the helpless animal. Hiccup instead cuts it free, and the dragon disappears into the forest. Meanwhile, Stoick assembles a fleet to seek out the dragons’ nest, but before he leaves, he places Hiccup in dragon-killing classes taught by Gobber, the village blacksmith.

Searching the forest, Hiccup finds the dragon trapped in a shallow glade; the dragon’s tail was injured, preventing it from flying normally. By trial and error, Hiccup discovers a way to earn the dragon’s trust and begins to care for it. He names the Night Fury “Toothless,” for its retractable teeth. Soon after, Hiccup fashions a makeshift harness and prosthetic tail that allows him to guide the dragon in free flight. Hiccup is able to transfer his knowledge of dragons to the other species of dragons at school, appearing to conquer each one in battle and becoming the star pupil, much to the dismay of Astrid, a girl in dragon training whom Hiccup has a crush on. Hiccup wins the class and gets the chance to kill a dragon in front of the entire village. The battered Viking fleet arrives home and Stoick learns of his son’s exploits in school.

Later, Astrid follows Hiccup, suspicious of his sudden skill, and is shocked to discover Toothless. She attempts to escape to tell the rest of the village, but Hiccup coerces Astrid into flying with Toothless. At first, Astrid is terrified, but then begins to enjoy the excursion. Toothless unexpectedly joins a flock of dragons and takes the pair straight into the dragon’s nest, where the truth behind the dragons’ constant raids of their village is revealed – the Red Death, a giant Seadragonus Giganticus Maximus dragon, lives off the food they bring back, else it feeds on the dragons themselves. Astrid wants to tell the village of the nest, but Hiccup wants to keep it a secret to protect Toothless. Astrid, who admires his determination, agrees. The Cast

• Jay Baruchel as Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III. The sophisticated and brilliant teenage son of the Viking chief, Hiccup plans to become a Viking warrior. Unfortunately, in the crude world of the Vikings, Hiccup’s slight build, rebellious determination, and sarcastic sense of humor make him a social outcast. His best friend and dragon is Toothless, a Night Fury.
• Gerard Butler as Stoick the Vast, the chieftain of the Viking tribe and Hiccup’s father. Immensely strong, utterly fearless, and a fierce warrior, he embodies the traditional Viking virtues. He does not understand his child, having little in common with him.
• Craig Ferguson as Gobber the Belch, a close friend of Stoick’s and the seasoned warrior appointed to drill the new recruits. He runs a blacksmith shop where Hiccup is his apprentice. Gobber believes in “learning on the job” and dispenses questionable advice. He also acts as the bridge between Hiccup and Stoick. He is missing his right foot and his left hand, the latter of which he has replaced with a variety of specialized prosthetics.
• America Ferrera as Astrid Hofferson. Striking, energetic and tough, Astrid is a teenage embodiment of the Viking way. Her competitive, determined personality makes her hard to impress. She later becomes Hiccup’s girlfriend and rides a female Deadly Nadder, whom she names Stormfly.
• Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Fishlegs Ingerman. Fishlegs normally acts nervous and frightened, but has an inexhaustible arsenal of facts and expresses his knowledge in role-playing game terms. He has memorized the manual of dragons, (saying he has read it seven times). His dragon is a female Gronckle, whom he names Meatlug.
• Jonah Hill as Snotlout Jorgenson. One of Hiccup’s dragon-training classmates and Hiccup’s cousin. Snotlout is brash, over-confident, and very unintelligent. He also has an interest in Astrid and makes several attempts to impress her. His dragon is a Monstrous Nightmare, whom he names Hookfang.
• T. J. Miller and Kristen Wiig as Tuffnut and Ruffnut Thorston. The fraternal twins are thugs with ferocious intents and foul tempers, especially regarding each other. Together, they each ride a head of a Hideous Zippleback (a two headed dragon), whose name is unknown.
• David Tennant as Spitelout. A Viking who is not named in the film, he appears to be Stoick’s Second-in-Command and is also Snotlout’s father. He is seen with a Terrible Terror on his shoulder at the end of the film. Tennant has previously narrated a series of Hiccup adventures on audio book.

Tangled is a 2010 American computer animated musical comedy fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. It is the 50th animated feature from Walt Disney animated series Classics. The film features the voices of Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi and Donna Murphy and is loosely based on the German fairy tale “Rapunzel” in the collection of folk tales by the Brothers Grimm published. The film tells the story of a lost princess with long hair magic longs to leave her lonely tower. Against the wishes of her mother, she enlists the help of a thief of thieves that take place in the world has never seen.

The film was originally titled and marketed as Rapunzel, until it was changed to Tangled shortly before its release. Tangled spent six years in production at a cost that is estimated at $ 260 million, if required (and adjusted for inflation), would the most expensive animated film in history and the second most expensive film of all times. The film employs a unique artistic style by blending characteristics of both computer-generated imagery (CGI) and traditional animation, while the use of non-photorealistic rendering to create the impression of a painting. The composer Alan Menken, who had worked on previous Disney animated features, Tangled scored again.

Tangled premiered at the El Capitan Theatre on November 14, 2010, and went into general release on 24 November. Distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, Tangled earned $ 590 million in worldwide box office revenue, $ 200 million that was earned in the United States and Canada. The film was well received by critics and audiences. Tangled was nominated for several awards, including Best Original Song at the Academy Awards 83. The film was released on Blu-ray and DVD on March 29, 2011, a short animated sequel, Tangled forever, was released in 2012.

Plot

A drop of sunlight falls to the ground and grows into a flower. An old woman named Gothel finds it and uses it to keep herself young by singing to it. Centuries later, a kingdom has developed, ruled by a king and queen. The Queen becomes ill during pregnancy, and the couple’s loving subjects search for the legendary flower. The queen is eventually fed the flower, is healed, and gives birth to a daughter, whom they name Rapunzel. Rapunzel’s golden hair, it is found, has absorbed the abilities of the flower. Gothel discovers this and tries to steal a lock of Rapunzel’s hair. However, she finds that, once cut, the hair turns its normal brown and loses its power. So she kidnaps Rapunzel and hides her in a tower, saving the powers of the flower for herself, and raising her as her own child. Every year, on Rapunzel’s birthday, her parents and their subjects release thousands of sky lanterns, in the hope that the lost princess will return. Rapunzel has seen these over the years from her high tower. Nearing her 18th birthday, she asks Gothel to take her outside to see the source of the annual floating lights as her present, but Gothel refuses.

Meanwhile, the charismatic Flynn Rider and accomplices steal the tiara of the lost princess. During the ensuing chase, Maximus, horse of the Captain of the Guards, is separated from his rider and continues the search for Flynn alone. Flynn outwits his accomplices, takes the tiara, and stumbles upon Rapunzel’s tower. He climbs up it and in but is knocked unconscious by a frightened Rapunzel, who hides him in a wardrobe. When Gothel returns, Rapunzel tries to show her the captive but is fiercely barked down by Gothel. Gothel tells her she is never leaving the tower. But the forlorn but sharp Rapunzel instead asks for Gothel a special paint for her birthday found three days journey away. Gothel leaves and Rapunzel takes Flynn out of her closet and ties him to a chair. When revived, she tells him that she will give him the tiara if he takes her to see the lights. Flynn takes her to the Snuggly Duckling Inn, which is full of Gaul thugs, in hopes of scaring her into giving up her quest, but the thugs are charmed by Rapunzel, who encourages them to follow their dreams.

Mother Gothel sees Maximus riderless and worries someone will find Rapunzel. She returns to the tower to find Rapunzel gone. Meanwhile, the guards invade the tavern, but Rapunzel and Flynn Rider have escaped. The pursuit ends at a dam, which Maximus causes to collapse; Flynn and Rapunzel are trapped in a flooding cave. Believing he’s about to die, Flynn admits his true name: Eugene Fitzherbert. Rapunzel admits she has hair that glows when she sings. Using her hairlight, they find a way out. Later, when Flynn goes to gather firewood, Gothel meets Rapunzel insisting that Flynn does not care for her and merely wants the tiara. Kick-Ass is a 2010 film black superhero comedy based on the comic of the same name by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. The film was directed by Matthew Vaughn, who co-produced the film with actor Brad Pitt, and co-wrote the script with Jane Goldman. General release of the film was the March 25, 2010 in the UK and April 16, 2010 in the U.S..

The film tells the story of an ordinary teenager, Dave Lizewski, who is about to become a superhero in real life, who calls himself “Kick-Ass”. David becomes involved in a bigger fight when he meets Big Daddy, a former policeman who, in their attempt to overthrow the drug kingpin Frank D’Amico, has trained his eleven-year-old daughter to be the caretaker Hit-Girl relentless.

Despite some controversy generated by his irreverence and violence by a child, Kick-Ass was well received by critics and audiences. The film has gained a strong cult following since its release on DVD and Blu-Ray.

Plot

Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson) is an ordinary teenager who lives in New York. Dave, an avid comic book fan, is bitter that people do not intervene when a crime is being committed. He purchases a bodysuit and, after making modifications, embarks on a campaign to become a real-life superhero, despite having no superpowers or skills. After his first crime-fighting encounter leads to him getting stabbed and getting run over in a hit and run, leaving him with permanent nerve damage, he gains an enhanced capacity to endure pain, and surgical implants required to repair multiple skeletal fractures give him resistance to further bone-crushing injuries. His effort to conceal the truth, claiming he had had his clothes thrown off after being mugged, leads to rumors that he is gay. His longtime crush, Katie Deauxma (Lyndsy Fonseca) immediately attempts to become his friend, having always wanted a “gay BFF”; Dave hesitantly goes along with it. After intervening in a gang attack, Dave’s actions are recorded by a bystander and put on the internet, turning him into a celebrity. Calling himself “Kick-Ass”, he sets up a MySpace account so he can be contacted for help. After responding to a request from Katie, he deals with a drug dealer, Rasul, who has been harassing her. Rasul and his thugs quickly overpower him, but he is rescued by eleven-year-old vigilante Hit-Girl (Chloë Moretz), who kills Rasul first, and then kills all of Rasul’s thugs and leaves with her father, Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage). They believe he has potential, but warn him to be more careful, and give him a way to contact them if needed.

Big Daddy is Damon Macready, a former cop who has a long-standing grudge against crime boss Frank D’Amico (Mark Strong) for framing him as a drug dealer, leading to the suicide of his wife. His former partner at the New York Police Department, Marcus Williams (Omari Hardwick), became guardian to his daughter, Mindy. Big Daddy, however, has reclaimed Mindy and is training her to be a skilled crime-fighter, against Marcus’ wishes, hoping to take down D’Amico, sabotaging his organization. However, Big Daddy’s actions inadvertently made D’Amico target Kick-Ass instead, believing that it was the latter that killed his men. • Aaron Johnson as David “Dave” Lizewski / Kick-Ass: Johnson said that Kick-Ass is a “sensitive guy” who lost his mother and is a “nobody” at school, so he creates his superhero identity “as this whole different persona.” Johnson said that Dave is “a kid who’s got the guts to go out there and do something different.” Christopher Mintz-Plasse originally auditioned for the role of Kick-Ass, but during the audition the producers believed that his acting was too loud and obnoxious for the lead, so they immediately gave Mintz-Plasse the role of Red Mist instead.
• Nicolas Cage as Damon Macready / Big Daddy: Vaughn described Cage’s performance as a little bit Elvis and a little bit Adam West. A character in the film even says his costume looks like that of Batman. Cage was inspired by his costume to try delivering his lines in the same style Adam West used for Batman. The police officer father of an ex-girlfriend also influenced his performance; the habit of Big Daddy referring to Hit-Girl as “child” stems from the police officer.
• Chloë Grace Moretz as Mindy Macready / Hit-Girl: Vaughn commented on the maturity of Moretz, who said that because she has four older brothers, she was no stranger to much of the language in the script. Her mother read the script and permitted her to use the profanity in the movie. Jane Goldman, one of the two co-writers of the script, said, “We just really wanted Hit-Girl to be a character who, in a sense, simply happens to be an eleven-year-old girl, in the same way that Ripley in Alien could have been a guy but the part happened to be played by Sigourney Weaver.” Goldman said that Mindy “is genuinely dangerous, she’s genuinely mad. It’s not her fault: she’s been raised in this environment where she doesn’t know anything different. She’s unwittingly part of a folie a deux.”
• Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Chris D’Amico / Red Mist: Frank D’Amico’s son. Millar said that “the idea was that he was going to be a more minor character in the first film. Then we saw what Christopher Mintz-Plasse was capable of! [...] So the idea of McLovin’ and the fun Red Mist doing something horrible is genuinely quite disturbing when you see it happen. We couldn’t have got away with that with another actor. The minute we saw his performance, we were looking at each other and realised how good he was and what we could do with him in the future….” Mintz-Plasse said that when he first wore the Red Mist costume, he felt that it was entertaining and that he “looked so bad-ass.” The actor sent photographs of himself in costume to his friends. Three weeks into the filming, Mintz-Plasse decided that the costume was not very comfortable and “a big pain in the ass.” Mintz-Plasse wore the costume for 12 hours per filming day. Mintz-Plasse had to learn how to use a stick-shift in order to drive the Ford Mustang that is used in the film. Vaughn told Mintz-Plasse that the actor would have to pay for the car if he crashed it.

Shutter Island is a 2010 American psychological thriller film directed by Martin Scorsese. The 2003 film is based on Dennis Lehane’s novel of the same name. Production began in March 2008. U.S. Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Marshal Edward “Teddy” Daniels, who is investigating a psychiatric facility located on the island’s name in the title. The film grossed over $ 128 million in its initial release the National Theatre.

Shutter Island was originally declared to be released on October 2, 2009, but Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks Pictures pushed the release date on February 19, 2010.

Plot

In 1954, two U.S. Marshals, Edward “Teddy” Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his new partner, Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo) travel to the Ashecliffe Hospital for the criminally insane on Shutter Island located in Boston Harbor, as part of an investigation on the disappearance of patient Rachel Solando, incarcerated for drowning her three children. Shortly after arrival, a storm prevents their return to the mainland for several days. Daniels finds the staff confrontational: the lead psychiatrist, Dr. John Cawley (Ben Kingsley), refuses to hand over records of the hospital staff; Solando’s doctor, Dr. Sheehan, had left on vacation after her disappearance, and they are barred from searching Ward C and told that the lighthouse on the island has already been searched.

Daniels starts having migraine headaches, waking visions of his involvement in the Dachau massacre, and disturbing dreams of his wife, Dolores Chanal (Michelle Williams), who was killed in a fire set by arsonist Andrew Laeddis. In one dream, Chanal tells Daniels that Solando is still on the island, as well as Laeddis. Daniels later explains to Aule that locating Laeddis was an ulterior motive for taking the case.

As Daniels and Aule continue their investigation, they find that Solando has been found by the staff with no explanation. With neither the staff or patients helping, Daniels decides to break into Ward C, and eventually meets George Noyce (Jackie Earle Haley), another patient. Noyce warns Daniels that Ashecliffe is performing questionable experiments on its patients, and sends the incurable to the lighthouse to be lobotomized. As Daniels leaves, Noyce asserts that everyone on the island, including Aule, is playing in a game designed for Daniels.

Daniels regroups with Aule and they make their way to the lighthouse, but as they attempt to transgress the cliffs, they become separated. Daniels finds a woman hiding in a cave, claiming to be the real Rachel Solando (Patricia Clarkson). The woman asserts she was a former psychiatrist at Ashecliffe until she discovered the experiments with psychotropic medication in an attempt to develop mind control techniques and create “sleeper agent” spies. When she attempted to alert the authorities, she was committed as a patient. Leaving the woman, Daniels finds no sign of Aule, and returns to the hospital. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 is a 2010 fantasy film directed by David Yates and the first of two films based on the novel Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by JK Rowling. This is the seventh installment of the film series Harry Potter, written by Steve Kloves and produced by David Heyman, David Barron and Rowling. The story follows Harry Potter in a quest to find and destroy Lord Voldemort secret of immortality – the Horcruxes. The film stars Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, with Rupert Grint and Emma Watson as Harry’s best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. It is the sequel to Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and is followed by the final film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2.

Principal photography began on February 19, 2009 and was completed on June 12, 2010. Part 1 will be released in IMAX 2D and formats throughout the world on November 19, 2010.

On the weekend of the opening film in the world, Part 1 grossed $ 330 million, the third highest of the series, and more open in 2010 and the eighth highest of all time. With a worldwide gross of $ 957 million, part 1 is the highest grossing film of 2010 third highest, behind Toy Story 3 and Alice in Wonderland. It is the third highest grossing movie of Harry Potter in terms of total worldwide behind Deathly Hallows – Part 2 and the Sorcerer’s Stone, and 14 highest grossing film of all time. The film received two nominations in the 83rd Academy Awards: Best Visual Effects and Best Art Direction.

Plot

Minister Rufus Scrimgeour addresses the wizarding media stating that the Ministry of Magic will remain strong as Lord Voldemort gains power throughout the wizarding and Muggle worlds. Severus Snape arrives at Malfoy Manor to inform Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters of Harry’s departure from No. 4 Privet Drive. Voldemort commandeers Lucius Malfoy’s wand, as Voldemort’s own wand cannot be used to kill Harry; their wands are “twins”.

Meanwhile, the Order of the Phoenix arrive at Privet Drive and escort Harry to safety using Polyjuice Potion to create six decoy Harrys. During their flight to the Burrow, they are ambushed by Death Eaters, who kill Mad-Eye Moody and Hedwig, and injure George Weasley. They arrive at the Burrow, where Harry has a vision of Ollivander being tormented by Voldemort, who claims that the wand-maker had lied to him by informing him of the only way to kill Harry: obtaining another’s wand.

Scrimgeour arrives at the Burrow and distributes items from Albus Dumbledore’s will to Ron, Hermione and Harry. Ron receives Dumbledore’s Deluminator, Hermione, The Tales of Beedle the Bard, and Harry the first Golden Snitch that he ever caught. Scrimgeour reveals that Harry was willed the Sword of Godric Gryffindor, but explains that the sword was not Dumbledore’s to give away and, in any case, is missing. Continue Reading…

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is a 2010 comedy directed by Edgar Wright, based on the graphic novel series Scott Pilgrim by Bryan Lee O’Malley. The film is about Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera), a young Canadian musician, meet the girl of his dreams, Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), a delivery girl in America. In order to win Ramona, Scott learns that he must defeat the “seven evil exes” in Ramona, who come to kill him.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World was planned as a movie after the first volume of the cartoon was released. Wright became attached to the project and filming began in March 2009 in Toronto. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World was released after a panel discussion at the San Diego Comic-Con International on July 22, 2010. We received a wide release in North America on August 13, 2010 in 2,818 theaters. The film finished fifth in its first weekend of release with a total of $ 10.5 million. The film received generally positive reviews from critics and fans of the graphic novel, but failed to recover its production budget during its theatrical release, grossing $ 31.5 million in North America and $ 16 million overseas. However, the film has fared better on video, making it the best selling Blu-ray at Amazon.com during the first day it was available and has since gained a cult.

Plot

In Toronto, Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera), the bass guitarist for the band “Sex Bob-omb”, begins dating high schooler Knives Chau (Ellen Wong) much to the disapproval of his friends. Scott meets an American girl, Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), who has been appearing in his dreams, and becomes obsessed with her, losing interest in Knives. While playing in a battle of the bands sponsored by one “G-Man Graves” for a record deal, Scott is attacked by Matthew Patel (Satya Bhabha), who introduces himself as the first of Ramona’s “evil exes”. Scott defeats Patel and learns from Ramona that, in order for them to date, he must defeat all seven of her evil exes.

Scott breaks up with Knives, who blames Ramona for taking Scott from her and begins trying to win him back. Scott battles Ramona’s second evil ex, popular actor and skateboarder Lucas Lee (Chris Evans), who he defeats by tricking him into performing a dangerous skateboard grind that causes him to combust. Scott later encounters the third evil ex, Todd Ingram (Brandon Routh), who is dating Scott’s ex-girlfriend, Natalie “Envy” Adams (Brie Larson). Todd initially overpowers Scott using his psychic vegan abilities, but is stripped of his powers by the Vegan Police (Thomas Jane and Clifton Collins, Jr.) after Scott tricks him into having coffee with half and half cream, allowing Scott to defeat him.
